HELPING PEOPLE FIND THEIR WAY
The team at Stride are experienced in acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury. Overall experience encompasses dealing with brain injuries, however, RSW’s draw from a broad range of experience working with individuals who have been diagnosed with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, addiction as well as managing extremes in behaviour, to name a few.

TRAVEL NOTE
Many of Stride Rehab's clients live in rural areas/small towns. Rural areas have a charm about them that cities simply can’t compete with. This does come with the challenge of having a smaller population base when compared to a city. For this reason, it is an ongoing struggle to find RSW’s (Rehabilitation Support Workers) in rural areas and smaller towns. Being in a city affords people the opportunity of having more resources available.
One of the primary reasons to locate an RSW that is local to a client’s home is an effort to reduce the travel cost associated. We are not saying that an RSW in a rural area can’t be found. What we are saying is the option of having a choice between many RSW’s is far less when compared to one who is living in a city.
Stride Rehab’s solution to this ongoing resource issue is to bill 30 minutes maximum (one way) to any client who lives up to 1.5 hours away. This allows us to reach deep into the communities we serve. We strongly feel that clients who require an RSW should have the option of having the best fit, similar to those who live in a city. This is a precedence setting solution!
Anything over 1.5 hours of travel time, Stride Rehab will bill half the travel time. Here is an example: For a client who lives two hours away, Stride Rehab will bill 30 minutes for the first hour and a half. The next 30 minutes is split in half at 15 minutes. Our travel time equals 45 minutes one way instead of 2 hours. This greatly reduces the travel cost without compromising quality and option for the best fit.
Stride's approach to keeping rehab costs down for all clients have given many in rural areas the benefit of having our dedicated team provide service to them, without the added travel expense.
