All RSW's on the team have one (or more) of the following educational requirements:

 

• Developmental Services Worker Diploma

• Child and Youth Worker Diploma

• Occupational Therapy Assistant 

• Physiotherapy Assistant 

• Social Service Worker

• Educational Assistant

• Early Childhood Education

• Related College Diploma

• Related University Degree​

 

In addition to the Educational Component, RSW's are required to have:

​

• Current criminal background check

• Vulnerable sector screening

• Valid driver's license, vehicle and willingness to travel

 

Experience with the services we provide such as:

 

• Academic support

• Activities of daily living

• Assisting with basic and advanced life skills 

• Assistive technology support (Apple iOS, Android, PC, etc.)

• Behavioural rehabilitation/support

• Budgeting

• Cognitive strategies

• Community integration (leisure, recreational, vocational)

• Data collection to identify patterns in behaviour

• Recommended goals from rehabilitation team such as Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist etc.

• Transition from hospital into the community
